Estimation of greenhouse gases in rice fields and plantations in Teluk Bintuni Regency, West Papua

Abstract The study purpose was to estimate greenhouse gases produced in agricultural sector Teluk Bintuni Regency. Data were taken from 15 farmer groups districts, and 6 families of rice farmers assisted by Tangguh LNG’ CSR. calculation method uses IPCC 2006 Tier 2. correction factor used calculating Bintuni’s GHG is adjusted based on land area, soil type, type fertilizer, irrigation used. results show that paddy farming activities LNG CSR produce CH 4 964.45 kg/year, or CO 2 20.253,54 kg/year. Fertilization fields direct emissions 1344.51 kg , indirect 436.97kg fertilizing using NPK NO equivalent 456.70 148.43 . plantation ZA fertilizer 2969.74 965.165 6074.467 1974.20 It necessary further implement low-emission through fertilization the right size selection varieties systems.
